It just make me think of all the years as a school child I was supposed to "take a stand" and explain my beliefs and suffered - yet there is Geoffrey Jackson weaseling out of it on the stand when he was questioned by the Austrailian Royal Commission.

she said she “knew” that jehovah would preserve disney world because witnesses would need “someplace to go” after armageddon.
I guess you would need Disneyland after Armageddon. After all, you'd need to get away from all the dead bodies, buzzards and flies.
And there would be Sister (out in service) walking in there "Oh My God!! Look at all the Dead Children!" I bet she didn't think about that. Probably thinks the Angels would take care of that too. Tidy it all up just for her...
I could imagine a twillight zone atmosphere - Everywhere you went in the park "It's a small world" would be playing.
some years ago watchtower wrote that some arrangement in the organisation, they probably made wrong.
some months ago tony morris said that faithful slave is not perfect and could have done some arrangements organisation wrong.
do you think they meant the two witness rule, the disfellowshipping arrangement or anything else?
That was just their way of making a "Get out of jail" card. Any problems or slip up - Hey we are just like you, humans that makes mistakes. Whatever happened in the past or will happen in the future, they'll use this to absolve themselves.
If they have to change one of the "biggies" - two witness rule etc., they will probably quote that WT and pretend to be the humble guys they aren't.

The JW who witnessed to a business man on a train, event tho he knew that he wouldn't listen. The man took the book and later thru it out the window. The book hit a man was who contemplating suicide.But when he read the title "The Truth That Leads to Eternal Life", he decided to study with the witnesses and became a JW.
Several years ago at a convention, the speaker was going on about the man who had said at a specific date, Armageddon was to happen. Harold Camping. The speaker chuckled at how ridiculous that man was. Ho Ho Ho. But the speaker continued on how some witnesses had also believed a certain date. Ha Ha Ha. Run up credit cards etc. Ha Ha Ha. How sad that some looked for a specific date. Hahahahaha That is one of the saddest and the most devious story I've heard from them.

There was one published about a man in one of the african countries. He had taken publications for years but never read them - only taking them to make them go away. He put them in a bag next to the front door and forgot about them. One day there were rebels taking over the area, so he fled in the night, only grabbing a bag of money and documents and tried to escape. He was on a bus that was stopped at one of the rebel checkpoints. People were being killed and he was sure he was going to because he had money in his bag. To his surprise, he found that he had grabbed the bag of JW magazines instead of the money bag. Of course, nothing happened to him because they assumed he was a JW. He figured God had saved him so he became a JW.

as jesus christ was preparing to go to his death, he encouraged his disciples with these words:.
"in my father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, i would have told you.
i go to prepare a place for you.
"In My Father's house are many mansions" So imagine God with a humongous house. Inside of that, is a hundred mansions. Kind of odd isn't it?
whatever we think of it, you have to admit that it's quite "genius".. the door to door ministry as done in western developed countries where the jw quirky religion has probably reached their saturation level was a complete and utter waste of time in terms of the effort expended to recruit people.. at the same time, it was rarely something that anyone enjoyed which led to people being labelled as inactive, being pressured to doing more and maybe ultimately deciding jwism wasn't for them and leaving.. there was also the issue that many jws are actually pretty bad at knowing and articulating their beliefs so were pretty incapable of getting any meaningful message across.. they solved all this with the cart witnessing.
the real point isn't to recruit, it's to make life easier for jws.
now they can stand and chat with their friend, have a coffee, not talk to anyone or make eye contact and still act as a walking billboard for jw.org.
Maybe that is the beauty of the carts - peer privileges that are only obtained if you become a pioneer. More pioneers - sell more carts - more inflated hours - WT gets to broadcast more hours spent in ministry - regular JW's believe all of it because there are more pioneers.
Pioneers that were ready to give up - now can go to a park and relax - more bragging rights because they undoubtedly count time from the moment they drag the cart out/arrive at a park. Even if there are several others and they have to wait their turn - it's all good.
My sister and her husband go to San Fran - they get to see the tourists. Maybe they even go around the sights - tho I wouldn't know because they don't talk with me.

Watchtower contends the minute orders are irrelevant and therefore the request should be denied.
